Ares me ha pedido que desate un manojo de palabras sobre la exposición que hoy inaugura, con el auspicio del Registro Cubano de Bienes Culturales. Con tantos entendidos analistas del esplendor visual que hay en esta ciudad, me lo ha solicitado a mí, que solo soy un artesano de la palabra y un inveterado admirador de la belleza y la gracia. Y no le he encontrado la punta a este ruego de Ares. ¿Quién está pidiendo por esa boca? ¿El amigo generoso, el cubano cumbanchero, o el siquiatra que pretende descubrir el rastro de mi personalidad? Más bien creo que es el gran artista Ares, quien me convoca a un acto de complicidad; a que disfrutemos un festín de provocaciones, con una mesa bien servida de sugerencias hondas. Y lo hace con esa naturalidad de los verdaderos creadores, con la autenticidad de quien transpira esta ciudad allí en Gervasio, entre Reina y Salud, y es capaz de elevarnos hasta el cielo para después volver a la esquina promiscua de Centro Habana.
